What Data We Collect
When you connect MoodPulse to your Slack workspace, we collect the following data to provide our burnout detection and wellness monitoring services:
- Slack workspace metadata — workspace name, team member list, and channel membership (not message content)
- Mood check-in responses — voluntary mood ratings and optional comments submitted through the
/moodSlack command - Aggregated activity metrics — message frequency, response times, and working hour patterns (we never store individual message content)
- Account information — email address and name for workspace administrators who sign up for the web dashboard
How We Use Your Data
We use collected data exclusively for:
- Detecting early signs of burnout through mood trends and activity pattern analysis
- Generating wellness reports and actionable recommendations for team leaders
- Sending alerts when team members show elevated risk indicators
- Improving our burnout detection algorithms with anonymized, aggregated data
We do not sell your data to third parties, use it for advertising, or share individual employee data with anyone outside your organization.
Anonymity & Privacy Protections
MoodPulse is designed with strong privacy protections for individual team members:
- Pseudonymous by default — team members appear under randomly assigned pseudonyms in the dashboard
- Consent-based identity reveal — a team member's real identity is only shown if they explicitly consent
- Aggregated metrics only — we store statistical summaries, never raw message content
- Individual opt-out — team members can opt out of monitoring at any time through Slack
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:
- Application data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) with encryption at rest
- Temporary session tokens are stored in Cloudflare KV with automatic expiration
- All data transmission uses TLS/HTTPS encryption
- Infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's global edge network with SOC 2 Type II compliance
Third-Party Services
MoodPulse integrates with the following third-party services:
- Slack — for workspace integration, mood check-ins, and activity monitoring
- Stripe — for payment processing (we never store credit card details)
- Cloudflare — for hosting, data storage, and content delivery
- PostHog — for anonymous product analytics to improve our service
Each third-party service operates under their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each integration to function.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Mood check-in data is retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
- Activity metrics are retained for 6 months in detailed form, then aggregated
- You can request full deletion of your workspace data at any time by contacting us
- When a workspace disconnects MoodPulse, all associated data is deleted within 30 days
